A shortened part name can become a purchasing problem when a quotation, sample and production BOM describe different items. YF-WIND recommends keeping the full WORLDSEMI reference attached to the engineering document used for approval. Family labels such as WS2812 or WS2811 help searching but do not resolve every ordering detail.
Connect three records
The quotation identifies the proposed supply item, the sample record identifies what was evaluated, and the BOM identifies what engineering approved. Compare these records before confirming a repeat order. A package or suffix difference should remain visible until the responsible engineer reviews it.
| Requirement | What to compare | Acceptance evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Quotation | Complete proposed reference and package | Current written quote |
| Sample | Traceable identity and board revision | Evaluation record |
| BOM | Approved manufacturer part and document revision | Controlled engineering list |
| Alternative | Difference and approval status | Engineering change decision |
A fictional repeat PCB build
A buyer has an old invoice with an abbreviated WS2812B reference and receives a quote with a longer suffix. Do not remove the suffix to make the records match. Recover the approved technical reference, compare the proposal and record the decision. If the earlier version cannot be identified, label the enquiry as identification support.

BOM LINE: exact approved manufacturer part
QUOTE LINE: complete proposed part
SAMPLE: identity and test evidence
DIFFERENCE: document explicitly
APPROVAL: engineering decision before order releaseCatalogue information is a starting point
The manufacturer separates integrated digital LEDs and driver IC ranges. Those categories help locate candidates; they do not prove substitution compatibility, availability or an official distributor relationship. Use the exact part documentation for technical review, and confirm commercial conditions in a current quotation.
Prepare a specific YF-WIND enquiry
Send the item type, full component or assembly reference if selected, quantity and unit, destination country and target delivery requirement. Include the relevant customer-owned drawing and describe which questions still need engineering input. Distinguish an evaluation candidate from an approved production item; identify whether alternatives may be proposed for review.
