Cabinet lighting serviceability depends on identifying what each section does and how it is documented. YF-WIND uses a service-zone brief to connect lighting requirements with customer-owned enclosure drawings. This is an OEM documentation guide, not a replacement or modification procedure for an existing gaming machine.
Give each section an unambiguous identity
A monitor surround, an upper accent and a button-deck section should have agreed names in the drawing and test record. Document connector references through the approved engineering process. Similar-looking plugs must not be treated as proof of electrical compatibility.
| Requirement | What to compare | Acceptance evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Zone identity | Drawing, assembly and service name agree | Zone register |
| Harness reference | Exact approved connector and pin assignment | Engineering drawing |
| Access route | How a section can be reached | Mechanical service review |
| Replacement control | Part and revision identification | Approved service record |
A fictional three-zone cabinet
A design may divide lighting into surround, deck and upper-accent zones. During prototype review, ask the team to locate each zone from the documentation alone. If the drawing and sample use different names, correct the record before a repeat build. Traceability reduces ambiguity without making a compatibility claim.
Project worksheet example
ZONE A: monitor surround / approved assembly reference
ZONE B: deck accent / approved assembly reference
ZONE C: upper accent / approved assembly reference
Harness details: engineering-controlled document
No proprietary cabinet interface is specified here.Use the OEM change process
IGT, ZITRO, KONAMI and Aristocrat are industry references, not a list of compatible systems. Their internal harnesses and protocols are not inferred here. Any change to an existing machine must follow the applicable OEM and approval process. The enquiry should describe the customer-owned design and the evidence engineering needs.
Prepare a specific YF-WIND enquiry
Send the item type, full component or assembly reference if selected, quantity and unit, destination country and target delivery requirement. Include the relevant customer-owned drawing and describe which questions still need engineering input. Distinguish an evaluation candidate from an approved production item; identify whether alternatives may be proposed for review.
