A wholesale LED strip order needs more than a model name and a metre quantity. Distributors also need a repeatable configuration: the same reel length, connection arrangement, variant identification and accessories in each shipment.
Define those details before the sample is approved. Otherwise, technically different products can arrive under descriptions that look almost identical in a purchasing spreadsheet.
Identify each variant precisely
Give every order line a complete specification. Record the exact strip model and revision where applicable, supply rating, LED density, addressable pixel arrangement, PCB width and intended control interface. Include the required protection construction, mounting environment and documentation.
Do not assume that a shared chip-family name guarantees the same wiring, timing, package or control behaviour. Compatibility must be checked against the selected strip, controller and power arrangement.
Define what one reel contains
State the nominal length per reel, quantity of reels and whether any custom lengths are needed. Confirm the permitted cutting interval for the exact product. Reel length is a packing description; it does not establish the length that can be powered safely from a single feed.
If you supply installers, specify whether they expect bare ends, pre-attached leads or a particular connector at one or both ends. Ask for a drawing or clear photo of the sample arrangement.
Treat connectors as part of the specification
Names such as “three-pin connector” are incomplete. Confirm the connector family, mating orientation, pin assignment, lead length and any required environmental protection. A matching shell shape is not enough to demonstrate electrical or mechanical compatibility.
| Order detail | Evidence to approve |
|---|---|
| Reel length and quantity | Packing list and sample reel |
| Connection arrangement | Wiring drawing and close-up photos |
| Pin assignment and direction | Model-specific connection documentation |
| Lead length and termination | Measured sample |
| Variant identification | Approved reel and carton labels |
| Included accessories | Itemised sample packing list |
Make mixed orders easy to receive
For multiple voltages, colours or control variants, agree on an internal SKU and a clear label description for every line. Labels should distinguish variants without requiring warehouse staff to open each bag or power every reel.
Discuss protective packing appropriate to the selected assembly and transport route. Confirm units per carton, carton dimensions and gross weight before comparing shipping options. Do not treat a protective bag as evidence of a product’s installed protection rating.
Keep a reference for repeat shipments
Store the approved strip reference, connection drawing, label layout, accessory list and sample photos together. Record any accepted changes explicitly. This gives the supplier and distributor a common baseline when a later shipment or replacement part is reviewed.
If your customers require destination-specific documentation, identify that requirement during quotation. Compliance status, power-supply selection, delivery terms and import responsibilities need checking for the actual order and market; they cannot be assumed from a category description.
What to send with your inquiry
Provide the intended application, exact reference model if known, configuration, reels or metres required, connector and lead requirements, packing preferences and destination country. If you are unsure about the technical selection, send the controller reference and project layout as well.
Explore LED Strip and request a distributor quotation. MOQ, samples, custom assembly options and lead time are confirmed against the selected configuration.
